El organismo, que previamente hab\u00eda reportado una magnitud de 7,1 pero luego actualiz\u00f3, inform\u00f3 que el epicentro se ubic\u00f3 al noroeste de\u00a0<strong>Montalb\u00e1n<\/strong>, estado Carabobo, a una profundidad de\u00a0<strong>13,2 kil\u00f3metros<\/strong>, por lo que fue clasificado como un sismo superficial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El movimiento tel\u00farico se sinti\u00f3 en gran parte del pa\u00eds y provoc\u00f3 evacuaciones, ca\u00edda de objetos y da\u00f1os en edificaciones. El mandatario municipal se\u00f1al\u00f3 que tambi\u00e9n se reportaron ca\u00edda de ventanas, desprendimiento de frisos y otras afectaciones en edificios del municipio, por lo que pidi\u00f3 a la poblaci\u00f3n mantener la calma y evitar saturar las l\u00edneas de emergencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De forma preliminar, tambi\u00e9n se reportan da\u00f1os en otras zonas de&nbsp;<strong>Caracas<\/strong>, entre ellas el centro comercial&nbsp;<strong>Galer\u00edas \u00c1vila<\/strong>, donde colaps\u00f3 parte de una pared; un edificio en&nbsp;<strong>Altamira<\/strong>, donde se registr\u00f3 el derrumbe de un muro; y edificaciones de&nbsp;<strong>La California Norte<\/strong>&nbsp;con grietas y desprendimientos de frisos.
