Baker trabaja en la Universidad de Washington, en Seattle, mientras que Hassabis y Jumper desarrollan su labor en Google DeepMind, Londres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El anuncio fue realizado por Hans Ellegren, <strong>secretario general de la Real Academia Sueca de Ciencias, encargada de seleccionar a los galardonados. <\/strong>En 2003, Baker dise\u00f1\u00f3 una nueva prote\u00edna, y desde entonces su grupo de investigaci\u00f3n ha creado una serie de innovaciones prote\u00ednicas, incluyendo aquellas que pueden emplearse como medicamentos, vacunas, nanomateriales y sensores diminutos, seg\u00fan explic\u00f3 el comit\u00e9 del Nobel. Por su parte, Hassabis y Jumper desarrollaron<strong> un modelo de inteligencia artificial capaz de predecir la estructura de pr\u00e1cticamente los 200 millones de prote\u00ednas identificadas por los investigadores hasta la fecha.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heiner Linke, presidente del Comit\u00e9 del Nobel de Qu\u00edmica, destac\u00f3 que durante a\u00f1os los cient\u00edficos hab\u00edan anhelado poder predecir la estructura tridimensional de las prote\u00ednas. \u201c<strong><em>Hace cuatro a\u00f1os, en 2020, Demis Hassabis y John Jumper lograron descifrar este c\u00f3digo utilizando inteligencia artificial.
